RACHEL
CUSHMAN NAMED
E8 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ROCHESTER,
N.Y. (Oct. 9, 2006) -- Rachel Cushman, a sophomore
forward on the Nazareth women's soccer team, has
been named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week
for the seven-day period that ended Oct. 8.
A
native of Rochester and a graduate of Irondequoit
High School, Cushman helped the Golden Flyers
to a win and a tie in two games last week. She
had the assist on teammate Jessica Rogers' game-tying
goal with less than two minutes remaining in regulation
of last Wednesday's 2-2 tie at RIT. Then on Saturday,
Cushman scored two goals in the first half of
Nazareth's 3-0 victory over Hartwick.
Cushman
leads the Golden Flyers with five goals through
11 games in 2006. Nazareth has an overall record
of 6-4-1, including a 2-2-1 mark in the Empire
8.
The
Golden Flyers' schedule resumes Saturday at William
Smith at 1 p.m.
