NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK
 ROCHESTER,
N.Y. (Nov. 7, 2006) -- Alex Kilroy, a senior goalie
on the Nazareth College men’s soccer team,
has been named Empire 8 Conference Goalie of the
Week for the seven-day period that ended Nov.
7, 2006. It marks the fourth time this season
that Kilroy has been named E8 Goalie of the Week.
Kilroy, a native and graduate of Spencerport,
posted his sixth shutout of the season and 17th
of his career in Saturday’s 1-0 victory
over RIT in the Empire 8 Conference Championship
game. The victory clinched the Golden Flyers a
berth in the NCAA tournament for the second straight
year. Kilroy was also credited with seven saves
in a 1-1 semifinal tie with Ithaca. He saved Ithaca's
fifth and final penalty kick to send Nazareth
into the conference title game.
A first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star in
'06, Kilroy has solidified a strong defense for
the Golden Flyers with 102 saves and has a 0.96
goals-against-average.
The Golden Flyers host Geneseo in the first round
of the NCAA tournament on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
