ROCHESTER,
N.Y. (Dec. 22, 2006) -- Danny Gilbertson, who
recently completed his third season as head coach
of the Nazareth College men's soccer team, has
been named NCAA Division III Northeast Region

a record of 15-5-3, won the championship of the
Empire 8 Conference and advanced to the NCAA Division

In the NCAAs, Nazareth eliminated three teams
to advance to the national quarterfinals before
being eliminated by New York University, 1-0.
As one of eight regional recipients, Gilbertson
now is eligible for national Coach of the Year
honors, to be announced Jan. 12 at the NSCAA awards
banquet in Indianapolis.
A native of London, Gilbertson was an assistant
coach at Hobart for four seasons before taking
over at Nazareth in 2004. He lives in Geneva,
