AMHERST, N.Y. (Oct. 3, 2006) -- Visiting Nazareth got goals from five different players Tuesday as the Golden Flyers won a non-conference game in men's soccer, defeating Daemen, 5-2.

Nazareth's fourth win on a row boosted the Golden Flyers' overall record to 9-2. The Golden Flyers play again Saturday when they resume their Empire 8 Conference schedule at Alfred at 7 p.m.

Against Daemen, which defeated Nazareth last season at Golden Flyer Stadium, the Golden Flyers got an early goal from freshman Christopher Lofgren, but Daemen answered with a pair of goals to take a 2-1 lead. Nazareth, however, scored three more times to take control. Senior Ed Babcock, sophomore Justino Flores and freshman Greg Blanchard (pictured) each scored before the first half ended to put Nazareth up 4-2.

In the second half, sophomore Justin Stevens scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season off an assist from Paul Pacitto to make the final 5-2. Alex Kilroy and Andy Evangelos played for Nazareth in goal and combined to make 11 saves.
