N.Y. (Sept. 6, 2006) – Host Nazareth remained
unbeaten in men's soccer Wednesday as the Golden
Flyers scored once in each half of a 2-0 non-conference
victory over Buffalo State.
Nazareth improved to 3-0 overall for the first
time since 2000. Buffalo State is 1-2.
Nazareth scored its first goal late in the first
half as Justin Stevens (pictured) scored his second
goal of the season off assists from Chad Kies
and Nick Proukou.
The score stayed that way until midway through
the second half when Scott Rigney scored off an
assist from Stevens.
Nazareth had a 20-8 advantage in shots and senior
goalie Alex Kilroy was called upon to make four
saves to record his first shutout of the season.
Shawn McDonell made nine saves for the Bengals.
The Golden Flyers play again Saturday at Oswego
in a non-conference game at 2:30 p.m.
