O'Hara (pictured, Camillus, NY) scored four goals
and added one assist Saturday and junior midfielder
Matt Aloi (DeWitt, NY) also scored four times
as Nazareth opened its men's lacrosse season with
a 17-5 victory over Gordon College.
The game was the season opener for both teams.

Nazareth scored the first seven goals of the
game -- by seven different players -- before Gordon
scored twice before halftime.
The Golden Flyers then broke the game open in
the third quarter by outscoring Gordon 7-1. O'Hara
scored three times in the third quarter and Aloi
scored twice. In the fourth quarter, sophomore
midfielder Mike Cummings (Elmira, NY) netted his
first career goal. Junior attackman Brian Lissner
(East Syracuse, NY) scored for the first time
in the first quarter with defenseman Will Tuttle
(Kennebunk, Maine) picking up the assist for his
first career point.
Sophomore attackman Jim Wall (Syracuse, NY) had
two goals for Nazareth and junior midfielder Steve
Cutia (Cortland, NY) contributed one goal and
three assists. Other Nazareth goal scorers were
senior midfielder Conor O'Keefe (Setauket, NY)
, junior midfielder Aaron Civalier (Rochester,
NY), senior attackman Jordan Hirsch (Montrose,
NY) and senior midfielder Chad Amidon (Syracuse,
NY). The Golden Flyers played without last year's
leading scorer, Ryan Hotaling (Syracuse, NY),
who is out with a shoulder injury.
Nazareth had a 44-24 edge in shots and a 48 41
advantage in ground balls. Senior Pat Mullin (Rochester,
NY) played the first three quarters in goal and
recorded eight saves. Andrew Kirkaldy (Alberta,
Canada) scored twice for Gordon and Danny Mack
(Dublin, OH) had a goal and an assist.
Nazareth returns to action Sunday, March 4 at
Springfield at 12 p.m.
