RYAN
MARTIN
Assistant Coach
An assistant coach at Rensselaer in 2006, Ryan Martin was appointed
as a full-time assistant coach at Nazareth in the fall of '06.
A native of Amherst, Mass., Martin served as the Red Hawks' defensive
coordinator and helped organize recruiting in '06. The Red Hawks
finished 7-10 overall and 4-2 in the Liberty League.
Martin also has experience as an assistant coach at Hampden-Sydney
College in Virginia in 2005 and as an instructor at the Powell Brothers
Lacrosse Academy for three summers.
As a player, Martin was a standout at Ithaca College, graduating
in 2003 with a degree in Business Administration. He was a four-year
member of the Bombers' lacrosse team and was team captain for two
seasons. He earned All-America honors in 2002 and 2003 as the team's
starting goalie and was named Empire 8 Conference Player of the
Year in '02.
JEFF
MANGINI
Assistant Coach
On the heels of a fine four-year playing career with the Golden
Flyers, Jeff Mangini returns this spring for his first season as
a part-time assistant coach.
A native of Freeport, Maine, Mangini graduated from Nazareth last
spring with a degree in Social Science.
He was one of the Golden Flyers' captains in 2006 and was an honorable
mention All-America selection as a defensive midfielder. In addition,
he was chosen as a first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star. He also
was an honorable mention all-E8 choice in 2004.
Mangini finished second on the team with 46 ground balls in '06
and he also contributed four goals as Nazareth finished 12-4 and
won the ECAC Upstate Championship.
Mangini played four seasons of lacrosse at Freeport High School
in Maine. He was the recipient of all-conference and team leadership
awards. He also competed in soccer and hockey.
