RYAN
MARTIN NAMED ASSISTANT COACH
FOR NAZARETH MEN'S LACROSSE
ROCHESTER,
N.Y. (Sept. 19, 2006) -- Ryan Martin, an assistant
coach at Rensselaer last season, has been named
assistant men's lacrosse coach at Nazareth College.
As an assistant coach in 2006, Martin served
as the team's defensive coordinator and helped
organize recruiting. The Red Hawks finished 7-10
overall in 2006, including 4-2 in the Liberty
League.
Martin also has experience as an assistant coach
in 2005 at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia
and as an instructor at the Powell Brothers Lacrosse
Academy for three summers.
A native of Amherst, Mass., Martin was a standout
player at Ithaca College, graduating in 2003 with
a degree in Business Administration. He was a
four-year member of the lacrosse team there and
was team captain for two seasons. He earned All-America
honors in 2002 and 2003 as a goalie and was named
Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year in '02.
