ROCHESTER, N.Y. (June 4, 2007) -- Recent Nazareth
graduates and first-team All-Americans Chad Amidon
and Ryan Hotaling were among the selections last
week for the 2007 Major League Lacrosse collegiate
draft held at Stony Brook University.
Hotaling, an attackman, was a fourth-round selection,
and the 35th pick overall, by the New Jersey Pride.
Hotaling then was traded to the San Francisco
Dragons, a team coached by former Nazareth standout
Brian Silcott.
Amidon, a midfielder, was selected in the fifth
round (and 43rd overall) by the Rochester Rattlers.
Amidon and Hotaling both are Syracuse natives
and graduates of Onondaga Central. Hotaling was
Nazareth's leading scorer in 2007 with 59 points
on 37 goals and 22 assists and finished his career
with 139 goals, second all-time at Nazareth. Amidon
was Nazareth's second leading scorer and top scoring
midfielder in '07 with 56 points on 34 goals and
22 assists. He also collected a team-high 106
ground balls.
