JAKE
COON
Assistant Coach
Following one of the more distinguished playing careers in the storied
history of Nazareth College lacrosse, Jake Coon is back for his
fifth season as an assistant coach.
Coon was the team's starting goalie for four seasons and in 2000
became the program's first-ever four-time All-American. He was a
first-team selection in 1998 and 2000, each time being awarded with
the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Award as the Outstanding Goalie
in Division III. As a freshman in 1997, Coon was the starting goalie
on a Nazareth team that captured the NCAA Division III championship.
A native of Homer, N.Y., Coon was a three-sport standout there.
At Nazareth, he set records for most career saves (769) and lowest
single season goals-against average (7.32 in 2000). He also holds
the NCAA Division III Tournament record (as well as the Nazareth
school record) for most saves in a game with 32.
Coon has a degree in social science and still plays
professionally for the Rochester Rattlers.
CHRIS
CORCORAN
Assistant Coach
Returning to the Nazareth lacrosse program for his fifth season
as an assistant coach, Chris Corcoran completed his playing career
in stellar fashion in 2000.
A regular as a long-stick midfielder, Corcoran earned
honorable mention All-America honors and was chosen to compete in
the prestigious North-South Senior all-star game.
A native of Baldwinsville and a graduate of Bishop Ludden High School
in Syracuse, Corcoran was a standout in basketball and lacrosse
there.
At Nazareth, Corcoran played three seasons of basketball, helping
the Golden Flyers capture the ECAC Upstate title in 1997. He also
was a member of the 1996 national championship lacrosse team. He
has a degree in business administration.
TIM
BOOTH
Assistant Coach
Following a stellar athletic career at Hobart College, where he
was a two-sport standout, Tim Booth joined the Nazareth coaching
staff in 2004 as a graduate assistant coach.
A native of Waterloo and a 1999 graduate of Waterloo High School,
Booth excelled in both football and lacrosse at Hobart. He earned
All-American honors as a linebacker in football in 2002 and was
named Defensive Player of the Year in the Upstate Collegiate Athletic
Association. His play helped Hobart win two UCAA titles and earned
the Statesmen NCAA Tournament berths in 2000 and 2002.
Booth also was a four-year standout as a midfielder in lacrosse
as he helped the Statesmen to two Patriot League titles and two
NCAA Tournament appearances. He scored 40 career goals and was the
team's face-off specialist, winning better than 56 percent of his
career draws.
He was the recipient of the Babe Kraus Award as Hobart's Athlete
of the Year for 2002-03. He graduated with a degree in history and
is working on a master's degree in education at Nazareth. Booth
also plays professional lacrosse for the Rochester Rattlers.
