ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Oct. 27, 2006) -- William Smith's Kaitlyn Hamilton scored four goals and assisted on another Friday as the visiting Herons rallied from an early deficit to defeat Nazareth in field hockey, 8-1.

The victory boosted the 10th-ranked Herons to 14-3, while Nazareth slipped to 4-12. The Golden Flyers close out their season Sunday at Rensselaer at 11 a.m.

The Herons survived an early scare as the Golden Flyers got an unassisted goal from freshman Kelly Flanagan (Fairport, NY) eight minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead.

William Smith, however, stormed back to score three times before halftime and were never seriously challenged thereafter. Brittany Paye, Hamilton and Sophie Dennis each had goals in the first 35 minutes.

In the second half, Hamilton opened the scoring off an assist from Katelin Nickeron. Dennis added her second goal of the game and Hamilton added two more goals -- both off assists from Liz Saucier. Ashley Barker closed out the scoring with a goal off an assist from Jamie Tucciarone.

Katie DeKraker had four saves in goal for the Herons. Katie May had nine saves for Nazareth and Kristen McIntyre two.
