NAZARETH LOSES TO ST. LAWRENCE, 7-1
Golden Flyers host University of Rochester on Wednesday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Sept. 8, 2006) -- Visiting St. Lawrence University scored six second half goals en route to a 7-1 non-conference victory over Nazareth College in field hockey Friday night.

With the win, St. Lawrence improves to 1-2 overall, while the Golden Flyers fall to 1-2 overall.

St. Lawrence got on the board and in the 27th minute on a goal by Ali Mattison and assisted by Eliza Matthews off of a penalty corner.

St. Lawrence converted on another penalty corner opportunity at 40:05 on a goal by Krista Chadwick.

The Saints then scored three goals within the next three minutes to take a 5-0 lead with goals by Joss-Elyse Smith, Chadwick and Carling Delaney.

Delaney notched another goal at 52:23 to increase the Saints lead to 6-0 before Nazareth junior Kasey Robinson (pictured) put the Golden Flyers on the board at 62:07. It was Robinson's first goal of the season.

St. Lawrence closed out the game with a goal by Mackenzie Kersen at 65:23.

Nazareth goalkeeper Katie May played 58 minutes and made three saves while allowing five goals. Kaitlyn Reed allowed two goals in the last 12 minutes of the contest. For St. Lawrence, Lindsey Taylor stopped four shots while earning her first victory of the season.

Nazareth's next game is Wednesday at home against the University of Rochester at 6 p.m.
