N.Y. (Oct. 21, 2006) -- Junior Jodee Magistro
(pictured) scored the game-winning goal with just
:04 left in regulation Tuesday to lift Nazareth
to a 2-1 women's field hockey victory over visiting
Oswego. Nazareth is now 4-11 while the Oswego
Lakers fall to 3-13.
Kelly Flanagan (Fairport HS/ Fairport, NY) scored
a goal with an assist from Keri Ross in the 14th
minute of the game. Later in the second half,
Oswego’s Kaylee Voorhies scored off of a
penalty corner bringing the score to 1-1. Magistro's
goal was her third of the season and was unassisted
following a scramble in front of the Oswego goal.
Kaitlin Daniels (Pierson HS/Sag Harbor) from
Oswego faced nine shots and made seven saves while
Nazareth’s Katie May (Irondequoit HS, Rochester,
NY) faced seven shots of which she saved six.
The Golden Flyers will play their final home
game on Friday October 27 at 4:00p.m. against
the William Smith Herons.
