NAZARETH LOSES AT HARTWICK, 3-1
Nazareth visits Oneonta Sunday at 1 p.m.

ONEONTA, N.Y. (Oct. 7, 2006) -- Host Hartwick got two goals from Jenev Schilling Saturday and the Hawks went on to defeat Nazareth in field hockey, 3-1.

Hartwick's record improved to 4-6 overall and 2-2 in the Empire 8 Conference. Nazareth slipped to 2-7 overall and 1-3 in the Empire 8.

Schilling's first goal came just 35 seconds into the game as she knocked in a crossing pass from teammate Samantha Galm. Nazareth tied the score before halftime on a goal by Jodee Magistro with junior Megan Grimmer assisting.

Galm scored an unassisted goal for Hartwick at 41:18 for what proved to be the game-winner. Then Schilling contributed an insurance goal, unassisted in the 61st minute.

Hartwick had an 18-3 edge in shots, including a 12-1 advantage in the second half. Nazareth goalie Kristen McIntyre made nine saves.

Nazareth returns to action Sunday at Oneonta at 1 p.m. The Golden Flyers return to their home field Tuesday to host Hamilton at 7 p.m.
