ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Oct. 17, 2006) -- Visiting Brockport defeated Nazareth 2-1 in a non-conference field hockey game Tuesday night. The loss drops the Golden Flyers' record to 3-10 overall. The victory improves Brockport's record to 7-6 overall.

Brockport's Amanda Pickard (Lancaster HS/Depew, NY) opened the scoring with a goal after she was awarded a penalty stroke in the 20th minute. Jessica Spitali (Eastridge HS/Webster, NY) increased Brockport's lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 49th minute.

Nazareth junior Kasey Robinson (Webster Schroeder/Webster, NY) scored her third goal in the last two games in the 55th minute to cut the Golden Eagles' lead to 2-1.

Brockport outshot Nazareth 12-3 in the first half and 17-6 overall.

Sophomore Katie May (Irondequoit HS/Rochester, NY) made 12 saves for the Golden Flyers. Andrea Vitello (Sweet Home HS/Amherst, NY) recorded five saves for Brockport.

The Golden Flyers are home again on Saturday for an Empire 8 conference game against Elmira at 2 p.m.
