ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Oct. 15, 2006) -- Host Nazareth defeated Washington & Jefferson by a score of 4-1 in a conference game on Sunday. The victory improves the Golden Flyers' record to 2-3 in the Empire 8 conference and 3-9 overall. The loss brings Washington & Jefferson's record to 2-2 in the Empire 8 conference and 9-4 overall.

Jodee Magistro (Comewogue HS/ Port Jefferson Station, NY) opened the scoring for Nazareth with a goal in the 13th minute. The Golden Flyers' second goal came from Kasey Robinson (Webster Schroeder HS/ Webster, NY) who scored her first of two goals in the 24th minute. Laura Peery (North Allegheny HS/ Wexford, PA) cut the Nazareth lead to one goal in the 37th minute. Kelly Miranda (Ossining HS/ Ossining, NY) scored an unassisted goal in the 51st minute to give Nazareth a 3-1 lead in the second half. Kasey Robinson scored her second goal of the game in the 56th minute to give the Golden Flyers their 4-1 victory.

Nazareth outshot Washington & Jefferson 13-9. Ashley Rund (Thomas Worthington HS/Columbus OH) made three saves in the first half and one in the second for the Presidents. Kristen McIntyre (Royalton-Hartland HS/ Lockport, NY) made two saves in the first 58 minutes for the victory. Katie May (Irondequoit HS/Rochester, NY) made one save for the Golden Flyers in the last 12 minutes.

The Golden Flyers are home again on Tuesday for a non-conference game against Brockport at 7pm.
