| CROSS COUNTRY TEAM RECEIVES
ACADEMIC HONORS
Juniors Jessica Brown, Brendan Epstein receive
individual honors.
 ROCHESTER,
N.Y. (Feb. 28, 2007) – Nazareth’s
women’s cross-country team was honored as
a 2006 Division III All-Academic Team. This is
the second consecutive season in which the women’s
team has been honored by the U.S. Track and Field
and Cross Country Coaches Association for this
award. The Golden Flyers’ women’s
team completed the cross country season with a
collective grade-point average of 3.51, which
shattered the minimum requirement of 3.1.
Junior Jessica Brown was recognized individually
for recording a 3.741 GPA as a Physical Therapy
major. A graduate of Oxford Academy, Brown has
been one of the Golden Flyers’ top runners
during the cross country and track and field seasons
since her freshman year. This past fall, Brown
was selected as an Empire 8 Conference all-star
after finishing 11th in the Empire 8 Conference
Championship meet. She also represented the Golden
Flyers on the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region
all-star team after placing 30th in the Regional
Championships meet.
Junior Brendan Epstein was also recognized individually
by the USTFCCA after recording a 3.979 GPA as
Biology major. This is the second consecutive
year Epstein has been honored individually for
his academic success. Epstein, a graduate of Moravia
High School, has also been one of the Golden Flyers
strongest runners since coming to Nazareth. He
has received NYSCTC all-star and first-team Empire
8 Conference selections for his successes.
To earn Division III All-Academic individual
honors, students needed to maintain a 3.5 GPA.
