Biology major. . . son of Ed and Eileen Epstein, Moravia, N.Y. . . returning for his third season, Epstein has been the Golden Flyers' top runner the past two seasons. . . was selected team MVP and was a first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star and a third-team NYSCTC all-star. . . named to the 2005 All-Academic team with the 11th highest GPA in Division III. . . top performances included a third-place finish at Nazareth's Short Course Invitational, seventh place at the LeMoyne Invitational, 18th at the NYSCTC Championships, 20th at Penn State Behrend and 45th at the NCAA Atlantic Regional. . . 2004: had several strong performances, including first at Nazareth’s Short Course Invitational, 23rd at the NYSCTC Championships and 49th at the NCAA Atlantic Regionals. . . earned team MVP and first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star honors and was league’s Rookie of the Year for ’04. . . also a standout for the Golden Flyers’ indoor and outdoor track and field teams. . . holds indoor record for the mile (4:36.96) and is part of relay records for the 4 x 800-meter relay and for the distance medley. . . Scholastic: a graduate of Moravia High School, Epstein was a four-year standout in cross country there. . . qualified for the New York state meet three times and the NY Federation meet once. . . was Interscholastic Athletic Conference and Section Four champion in 2003. . . also competed in track. . . was member of National Honor Society and valedictorian for Moravia Class of 2004.
