ROCHESTER, NY (Feb 6, 2007) – Host RIT outscored Nazareth 14-4 in overtime Tuesday to escape with a 73-63 women's basketball victory over the Golden Flyers.

The victory was RIT's second of the season over the Golden Flyers, who fell to 7-14 overall and 3-7 in Empire 8 Conference games. The Tigers have already broken the school record for most wins in a season and now stand at 13-8 overall, including 6-4 in conference games.

The loss was a frustrating one for the Golden Flyers, who led by as many as 10 points in the first half and by four, 59-55, following a three-pointer by freshman Jamie Malloy (pictured) with 1:46 left in regulation.

RIT came back to tie the score at 59-59 and force overtime as Margot Sandy scored with 1:29 left and Joanna Dobeck followed with a basket with :52 left. Each team had chances after that with Nazareth's Sally Wilcox missing a shot with :18 left. After Sandy missed a jumper for RIT with less than :10 left, Kelly Dunne missed a desperation jumper as time expired.

RIT's Ramata Diallo then dominated the five-minute overtime, scoring 12 straight points to finish with a game-high of 23. She also surpassed the 1,000-point mark in career scoring as the Tigers pulled away for the win.

Nazareth got off to a good start and led 15-5 following Dunne's three-pointer with 13:18 left in the half. RIT rallied to outscore Nazareth 25-13 the rest of the way to take a 30-28 lead at the break.

In the second half, RIT expanded its lead to as many as eight points, 51-43, following a pair of free throws by Renee Whitmore with 10:35 left. Nazareth then rallied with a 16-4 scoring run to regain the lead. Another three-pointer by Dunne put Nazareth ahead, 54-53, then senior Stephanie Bowens hit a jumper to extend the lead to 56-53.

After a basket by Diallo, Malloy hit a three-pointer for a 59-55 Nazareth lead before RIT rallied again to force overtime.

Malloy finished with a career-high 17 points, a total that was matched by Dunne, who made five three-pointers. RIT had three double digit scorers in addition to Diallo, who now has 1,009 career points. Whitmore added 13 points, Sandy had 11 and Dobeck 10.

Nazareth completes a five-game road trip this weekend with games at Utica (Friday at 6 p.m.) and Hartwick (Saturday at 2 p.m.).
