KELLY DUNNE NAMED E8 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Jan. 22, 2007) -- Kelly Dunne, a freshman guard on the Nazareth College women's basketball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week for the seven-day period that ended Jan. 21, 2007.

A native of East Northport, N.Y. and a graduate Northport High School, Smith scored a career-high 19 points to go with five assists and five steals in an 80-66 loss at Ithaca last Friday night. Dunne has started all 15 games for the Golden Flyers (5-10 overall) this season and is averaging 8.1 points and a team-best 3.1 assists per game. She also is second on the team with 22 three-point baskets.

Nazareth has three Empire 8 Conference home games this week, starting with Tuesday's meeting with RIT at 6 p.m. Nazareth also hosts Hartwick Friday at 6 p.m. and Utica Saturday at 2.
