COLLINS
Assistant Coach
Ed Collins, former girls basketball coach at Clyde-Savannah
High School, takes over as a Nazareth assistant coach for 2006-07.
Collins coached at Clyde-Savannah for three seasons and compiled
a record of 60-11 with two Section Five titles and an appearance
in the state semifinals. He was selected Section Five Coach of the
Year in 2003-04 and was the recipient of the Carolyn A. Foote Sportsmanship
Award for that season.
A native of Lyons, N.Y., Collins also has experience as JV baseball
coach at Clyde-Savannah, JV boys volleyball coach at North Rose-Wolcott
and last season as assistant women's coach at Cazenovia College.
He also has worked as an instructor at several camps and clinics
and in 2005 served as head coach of the Western New York Lady Lakers
16-and-under AAU team.
Collins is a graduate of Monroe Community College and works as an
electrician at Midlakes Electric Inc.
ERIN
MICHAELS
Assistant Coach
Assisting head coach Diane Williams for the second straight year
is Erin Michaels, a standout player for the Golden Flyers from 1998
through 2002.
A native of Pittsfield, Mass., Michaels ranks among Nazareth's all-time
leaders in several statistical categories, including games played
(105), points scored (1,477), scoring average (14.1), rebounds (696),
free throws made (339) and field goals made (532). She also was
a two-time first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star.
In Michaels' senior year, 2001-02, she served as Golden Flyers'
team captain and averaged 15.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game
as Nazareth finished 14-11 overall and earned a spot in the NYSWCAA
Tournament. She averaged 15 points per game as a junior when Nazareth
finished 18-9 overall and won their first-ever JPMorgan Chase Tournament
title.
Michaels graduated with a degree in Speech Pathology and works at
Stepping Stone Learning Center.
MONICA
ST. CROIX
Assistant Coach
On the heels of a four-year playing career at Elmira
College, Monica St. Croix returns to the Golden Flyers for her second
season as a graduate assistant coach.
St. Croix graduated from Elmira in 2005 with a degree in Speech
and Hearing. She is pursuing a master's degree in Speech Pathology
at Nazareth.
On the basketball court in 2004-05, St. Croix served as the Soaring
Eagles' team captain and appeared in all 25 games. She averaged
6.4 points per game and led the team in field goal accuracy (59-for-122,
.484).
A native of Watertown, N.Y., St. Croix was a standout player at
Immaculate Heart Central, where she played for her father, Jeff
St. Croix.
JESSICA
BERRY
Manager
Business Administration major. . . daughter of Gary
and Amanda Berry, Rome, N.Y. . . a graduate of Rome Free Academy,
Berry was a four-year starter in basketball there and was team captain
as a junior and senior. . . led team to Onondaga League title in
2004-05 and Section Three championship in 2005-06. . . serving as
the Golden Flyers' manager while recovering from a knee injury sustained
in the fall.
