N.Y. (Dec. 10, 2004) -- Sara Shipley scored 20
points to go with seven rebounds and five blocks
Friday to lift visiting Nazareth to a 67-62 victory
over William Smith in a non-conference women's
basketball game.
Nazareth led 35-32 at halftime and never trailed
in the second half as they expanded their advantage
to as many as 10 points. William Smith closed
to within three points, 64-61, with :22 left,
but got a pair of free throws from Jaimee McGivern
(16 points) and one from Kate Gagliardi to preserve
the win.
McGivern had four assists and four steals to
go with her 16 points. Sarah Homer (pictured)
added 14 points, including a pair of three-point
baskets.
Nazareth is off until Dec. 30 when the Golden
Flyers travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. for two games.
Nazareth plays UMass-Boston on Dec. 30 and Clarkson
on Dec. 31.
