SHIPLEY NAMED E8 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
 ROCHESTER,
N.Y. (Dec. 13, 2004) -- Sara Shipley, a senior
center on the Nazareth College women's basketball
team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Player
of the Week for the seven-day period ending Dec.
12.
A
native of Macedon, N.Y. and a graduate of Palmyra-Macedon
High School, Shipley scored 20 points in the Golden
Flyers' only game last week, a 67-62 victory over
William Smith last Friday. She also grabbed seven
rebounds and blocked five shots as the Golden
Flyers improved to 3-1 overall.
Through
four games this season, Shipley is averaging 15.3
points and 6.5 rebounds per game and shooting
50 percent (22-for-44) from the field.
Nazareth
plays again Dec. 30 against UMass-Boston in Daytona
Beach, Fla.
