ROCHESTER,
N.Y. (March 1, 2005) -- Seniors Sara Shipley and
Jaimee McGivern each were honored with today's
announcement of the Empire 8 Conference all-star
teams for women's basketball.
Shipley
(right), a 6-foot-1 center, was a first-team selection,
while McGivern, a 5-foot-7 guard, was named to
the second team. The teams were chosen through
voting conducted by the conference's eight head
coaches.
Shipley,
of Macedon, N.Y. and a graduate of Palmyra-Macedon
High School, led the Golden Flyers in scoring
(15.3 ppg.) and rebounding (8.1 per game) in 2004-05.
She also led the Golden Flyers in blocks (44)
and field goal accuracy (136-for-268, .507). She
completed her career ranked 10th on Nazareth's
all-time scoring list with 1,090 points. Shipley
also was a first-team selection in 2003-04.
McGivern
(left), of Latham, N.Y. and a graduate of Shaker
High School, was second on the team in both scoring
(10.3 ppg.) and rebounding (4.3 per game) and
was the team leader in assists (3.9 per game)
and steals (3.4 per game). Her 263 career steals
rank second all-time at Nazareth.
Shipley
and McGivern helped the Golden Flyers to a 13-11
overall record in 2004-05.
