SHIPLEY LEADS NAZARETH PAST PITT.-BRADFORD
Golden Flyers (6-1) open conference play this weekend

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Jan. 4, 2005) – Senior center Sara Shipley (pictured) scored a career-high 32 points Tuesday to lift Nazareth to its fifth straight win in women's basketball, a 69-55 triumph over visiting Pitt.-Bradford.

The non-conference win boosted Nazareth's overall record to 6-1. The Golden Flyers open their Empire 8 Conference schedule this weekend with road games at St. John Fisher Friday at 6 p.m. and Alfred Saturday at 2 p.m.

Nazareth trailed early in the game before rallying late in the first half to gain a nine-point halftime advantage, 33-24. The Golden Flyers were comfortably ahead in the second half, leading by as many as 18 points late in the game.

Shipley made 13 of 20 shots from the field and 6 of 10 free throws. She also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and had two blocked shots. Senior guard Jaimee McGivern also reached double digits with 11 points.
