McADAM NAMED E8 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK AGAIN

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Feb. 19, 2007) -- Corey McAdam, a freshman guard on the Nazareth College men's basketball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week for the seven-day period that ended Feb. 18, 2007. It marks the fifth time this season that McAdam has been honored as the E8's top rookie.

A native of Fairport, N.Y. and a graduate of Fairport High School, McAdam led the Golden Flyers to victories in their final two regular-season games last weekend as Nazareth finished the season at 11-14 overall. He recorded a triple double in Friday's 71-56 victory over Elmira with 11 points, 11 assists and a school-record 10 steals. Against Ithaca in Saturday's season finale, McAdam scored 19 of his game-high 25 points in the second half as Nazareth overcame a four-point halftime deficit to win 84-80. McAdam's two free throws with 3:23 to play gave Nazareth the lead for good. He went on to score six more points in the final minute to preserve the win. Against Ithaca, he also had nine assists and four steals.

McAdam completed the season as the Golden Flyers' second leading scorer at 14.6 points per game. He also broke a single-season Nazareth record with 81 steals and ranks among the national leaders in that category at 3.2 steals per game. He also ranks in the top 10 in assists at 7.4 per game.
