ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Feb. 8, 2005) -- Host RIT bolted
to a 19-4 lead in the first seven minutes Tuesday
and never trailed as the Tigers cruised past Nazareth,
75-54, in men's basketball.
Nazareth's third straight loss
left the Golden Flyers with an overall record
of 7-14, including a 2-8 mark in conference play.
RIT is 14-7, 8-2.
Despite the slow start, Nazareth
was able to close within five, 27-22 by halftime.
A 24-17 scoring run over the first eight minutes
of the second half enabled RIT's lead to swell
to double digits, 51-39, and RIT was comfortably
ahead the rest of the way.
Nazareth struggled with its shooting
as the Golden Flyers shot just 32 percent (21-for-66)
for the game, including 1-for-22 from three-point
range.
Freshman Ryan McAdam (pictured)
was Nazareth's high scorer with 11 points. Joe
Canori added nine points and Justin Fladd had
eight.
Nazareth returns to action this
weekend to host Hartwick Friday at 8 p.m. and
Utica Saturday at 4 p.m.
