Canori scored 18 points and junior Matt Groot
added 13 Saturday as Nazareth defeated host Hartwick
in men's basketball, 82-56, in an Empire 8 Conference
game.
The victory snapped a three-game
losing streak for the Golden Flyers, who improved
to 2-5 in conference play and 7-11 overall. Hartwick
is 0-7, 2-15.
Canori (pictured) made 6 of 11
shots from the floor, including four three-pointers.
Groot scored 11 of his 13 points in the first
half as Nazareth built a 32-25 advantage. He also
grabbed six rebounds.
Hartwick pulled to within five,
33-28, early in he second half before Nazareth
embarked on a 26-7 scoring spree that ended with
the Golden Flyers comfortably ahead 59-35 with
10 minutes left.
Freshman Kyle Nelson contributed
11 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Nazareth plays at home Friday
against Alfred at 8 p.m. The Golden Flyers also
host St. John Fisher Saturday at 4 p.m. (WHTK-AM
1280).
