SPRINGS, N.Y. (Dec. 4, 2004) – Nazareth
used a 6-0 run to close the game, overcoming a
one-point deficit with just over a minute to go,
to defeat City College of New York, 64-59, in
the consolation game of the Skidmore College Tournament
Saturday.
Senior Ryan Shipley (pictured,
Palmyra-Macedon/Macedon, NY) scored 15 points,
pulled down 12 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots and
was named to the all-tournament team. Freshman
Brian Ameneiros (Xaverian/Staten Island, NY) scored
12 points and freshman Joe Canori (Webster Thomas/Webster,
NY) added 9 points for the Golden Flyers.
Trailing by one point, 59-58, with time winding
down, Nazareth got a basket by Ameneiros with
1:08 left to take the lead for good, 60-59. Canori

fouled while grabbing the rebound and sank both
resulting free throws to seal the win.
Nazareth is 3-2 overall following a weekend split.
The Golden Flyers have their first home came Tuesday
against Oswego at 7 p.m. Nazareth then closes
out the first semester schedule with the Joe King
