CANORI NAMED EMPIRE 8 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK AGAIN

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Feb. 21, 2005) -- Joe Canori, a freshman guard on the Nazareth College men's basketball team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week for the seven-day period ending Feb. 19.

A native of Webster, N.Y. and a graduate of Webster Thomas High School, Canori averaged 19 points and four rebounds in two games for the Golden Flyers last week. He scored 23 points in a 76-68 loss at Ithaca, then added 15 points in a 71-66 season-ending loss at Elmira. Canori finshed the season as the Golden Flyers' leading scorer at 14 points per game. He also led the team with 52 three-point baskets.

The weekly honor marked the fifth time this season that Canori has been named E8 Rookie of the Week.
