NAMED EMPIRE 8 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK AGAIN
 ROCHESTER,
N.Y. (Jan. 24, 2005) -- Joe Canori, a freshman
guard on the Nazareth College men's basketball
team, has been named Empire 8 Conference Rookie
of the Week for the seven-day period ending Jan.
22.
A
native of Webster, N.Y. and a graduate of Webster
Thomas High School, Canori helped Nazareth split
a pair of weekend conference games. He equaled
a career-high with 22 points in Nazareth's 72-54
victory over Elmira last Friday. He had 11 points
Saturday in a 72-64 loss to Ithaca. It marks the
third time this season that Canori has been honored
as the conference's top rookie.
Canori
leads the Golden Flyers (6-9 overall, 1-3 E8)
in scoring at 13.3 points per game and has made
a team-high 29 three-point baskets. The Golden
Flyers host RIT Tuesday at 8 p.m.
