BOXSCORE | UPDATED STATS

ALFRED, N.Y. (Jan. 8, 2005) – Host Alfred used some torrid shooting Saturday to surge past Nazareth in men's basketball as the Saxons outscored the Golden Flyers, 91-78, in an Empire 8 Conference game.

Five Alfred players scored in double figures as the Saxons shot 54 percent from both the field (33-for-61) and from three-point range (12-for-22). Nazareth fell to 4-6 overall and 0-2 in Empire 8 Conference play. Alfred is 6-6 and 1-1.

Alfred's Quentin Bryant scored 19 of his game-high 24 points in the first half as the Saxons built a 45-37 lead. Alfred effectively answered every second-half charge the Golden Flyers could muster by making 17 of 30 second-half shots.

Freshman Joe Canori (pictured) led Nazareth with 15 points. Three others also reached double figures in Matt Groot (14 points), Caswell Smith (14 points) and Ryan McAdam (11 points).
