Founded in 1967, just two years after the National Endowment of the Arts was established by an act of Congress, the Nazareth College Arts Center has been an advocate for the arts since its inception. It has had a tremendous impact on the growth of performing arts in the region and a significant national/international impact through its presentation of new, emerging and established artists and arts organizations. Prior to the 1960s, most of the country had to travel to large cultural centers like New York City to see major performances. Nazareth College Arts Center has grown up with the industry and now presents many of the same productions as the Lincoln and Kennedy Centers. Through its school performance series and an extensive array of free performances, the Arts Center is growing new audiences for live performance.
From the beginning, the Nazareth College Arts Center has served exceptional local organizations and demonstrated a daring vision in bringing a diversity of national/international artists and troupes to perform for Rochester region audiences. Building on its history of cultural excellence and implementing the brilliant vision of President Daan Braveman, the Nazareth College Arts Center is embarking on a new era as a state-of-the-art facility and home to a regional dance festival.
Nazareth College Arts Center is a hub of creative excellence.
