Mentor Network
The Art Education Mentor Network is open to all art teachers (pre-teaching, novice and experienced) who seek to continue their professional growth as artists and teachers.
The Network meets monthly throughout the school year and offers a three -day Institute each summer. Bringing together artist-teacher colleagues, both experienced and beginning art teachers, the Art Education Mentor Network helps break down the isolation of teaching art and fosters ongoing professional growth. Members strive to: share their collective experience by presenting workshops; showcase their schools; and engage in a process of critical and reflective dialogue concerning contemporary educational issues that impact classroom practice.
Inservice credit for professional development may be available from your school district. Be sure to read the Mentor Network Abstract, which defines the program and its goals more clearly.
