About the Department

The mission of the Art Department at Nazareth College is to develop in our students levels of knowledge, skill, and creativity that will help them succeed in whatever professions they choose. To that end, our full-time faculty, composed of studio artists, art historians and art educators, is supplemented by a number of highly-respected practicing professionals. We have working relationships with many local museums, schools and graphics firms, providing our students with an active internship program.

Nazareth has a wide variety of offerings in fine art areas like Painting, Ceramics, Jewelry and Metalsmithing, Photography, Printmaking, and Fibers. In recent years, we have increased our offerings in commercial fields like Illustration and Graphics to prepare students for careers in the field of design. We have a Computer Graphics studio and several courses in Computer Graphics to better equip our graduates for the art of the future.
