Nazareth College and Jewish Senior Life entered into an affiliation agreement as of March 1, 2010, which greatly benefits both Nazareth students and the residents who live on the Jewish Senior Life campus.
Nazareth students, who are pursuing a career in physical therapy, social work, nursing, art and music therapy, or field work disciplines like sociology and psychology, will be able to do their clinical training at either the Jewish Senior Home, The Summit at Brighton or Wolk Manor.
Also, the residents of Jewish Senior Life will be able to continue their higher education by auditing courses on the Nazareth campus, attending lectures or by participating in mini-courses conducted by Nazareth staff and faculty on the JSL campus.
Nazareth College students can volunteer at the Jewish Senior Life campus. There are a number of activities that they are able to get involved in from dance classes to one-on-one visits as well as other games and activities.
The Jewish Senior Life campus is composed of three different types of residents from independent living to assisted living and skilled nursing:
The Summit at Brighton-
The Summit at Brighton is the region’s only Life Care community, offering spacious residential apartment homes, fulfilling programs and services.
Wolk Manor, an assisted living community, provides a residential setting for people who require some assistance with daily living activities, but are not in need of full-time care.
The Jewish Home of Rochester-
The Jewish Home of Rochester is the skilled nursing center, which offers various levels of long-term and short- term transitional care, in a contemporary and fulfilling environment.
