On-Campus Recruiting

Employing organizations and graduate/professional schools visit Nazareth College each year to meet with interested students. Students are encouraged to visit HireAFlyer frequently to check opportunities, and targeted e-mails are sent to students notifying them of upcoming visits. On-campus interview sign-ups occur throughout the academic year in the Office of Career Services. Graduating seniors and graduate students should regularly check the schedule on HireAFlyer for any additions.

Job Search Consultation

Students interested in consulting with a professional about their job or graduate school search may meet with the Career Services Director, Assistant Director, or Career Counselor by appointment. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are unsure of how to get started or who would like to investigate new approaches to the job search process. We also provide numerous online references.

HireAFlyer Website

Job Postings are listed through our online HireAFlyer system and include full-time, part-time, summer and work study employment opportunities. Students and alumni are encouraged to register for HireAFlyer  to search available positions and to create a job "search agent" so they can receive e-mail notification when a new position is added that matches their search criteria. In addition, the website includes all on-campus recruitment activities, job fairs and upcoming career events.

Credential Service

Nazareth alumni, seniors, graduate students, and students meeting state teacher certification requirements may establish a Credential File containing letters of recommendation. This file may be used by either employers or graduate schools in the application/selection process. Registration for this service is required and a $10 fee is charged to set up the file. This fee covers the first 5 copies of the file sent to employers/graduate schools. Subsequent copies cost $2 each.

Job Fairs & Special Programs

Nazareth College participates in special recruitment programs throughout the year coordinated by the Office of Career Services (for example, Teacher Recruitment Day and the Rochester Area Career Expo). These events draw a wide variety of recruiters from the Rochester area, and for teaching candidates, from across the country. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in these opportunities to establish connections with prospective employers. Events are listed in HireAFlyer.

Internships

An internship is an opportunity to get pre-professional experience outside the classroom. There is no standard internship - it can be paid or unpaid, full or part-time, and closely supervised. Internships that are credit bearing must be approved and supervised by the college. Individual departments often arrange internships for the students in their programs. Career Services also works closely with students to help facilitate this process. In addition we have a full-time internship coordinator for the campus-wide internships program at Nazareth College. While not all majors require an internship, we know that employers truly value that type of experience, and that students who participate in these pre-professional experiences will have an advantage in the job search process.
