Gilman Schoplarship: The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for U.S. undergraduate students that are receiving Federal Pell grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.
Application Process: The Gilman Scholarship Program accepts applications two times per year. Ideally, students should begin their application one full semester before their study abroad program is scheduled to begin.
There are two components to the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Application:
- Online application which includes uploading official transcripts.
- Online certifications form the applicant's study abroad and financial aid advisor.
Both components must be completed by the deadlines in order for your application to be accepted
Coverage: The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies abroad. Award recipients are chosen by a competitive selection process and must use the award to defray eligible study abroad costs. These costs include program tuition,k room and board, books, local transportation, insurance, and international airfare. Over 2,300 scholarships of us to $5,000 will be awarded this academic year for U.S. citizen undergraduates to study abroad Award amounts will vary depending on the length of study and student need with the average award being approximately $4,000.
