Nazareth College has a long tradition of winning French Government English Teaching Assistantships. Every year, the French Ministry of Education and the Cultural Services at the French Embassy offer teaching assistant positions in French primary and secondary schools and in Instituts universitaires de formation des maitres (IUFMs) in all regions of France and the DOM-TOMs. These awards give students the opportunity to spend six to nine months in France while gaining insight into contemporary French culture, mastering the French language, and gaining teaching experience.
